Teng Ngiek Lian

Biography

Mr Teng is the founder of Target Asset Management Pte Ltd. Since its inception in April 1996, he has served as the Chief Executive and Chief Investment Officer of the company. Prior to that, Mr Teng held many senior positions in the fund management industry including the Managing Director of Morgan Grenfell Investment Management (Asia) Limited, Managing Director of UBS Asset Management Pte Ltd and the Chief Executive Officer of Prime Partners Asset Management Group. During his previous appointments, Mr Teng was instrumental in launching a direct investment fund investing in Asia and several country funds investing in Indonesia, China, Pakistan and Korea. Before joining the fund management industry, Mr Teng worked for several industrial companies in Singapore and Malaysia, holding various positions including Joint-Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Financial Controller and Group General Manager. Mr Teng is an accountant by training. He is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK), Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrator (UK) and Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants. He was a council member of the Singapore Society of Financial Analysts between 1992 and 2002.
