Biography
Dr Whang is a consultant medical oncologist with Icon SOC Farrer Park Medical Clinic​. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine / Medical Oncology and has been a member of the American Association of Cancer Research and American Society of Clinical Oncology since 1977. She was an Internist / Associate Professor of Medicine with the Department of Medicine at the MD Anderson Cancer Center (USA). During her stint, she was involved in numerous research activities, and was the Principal Investigator for Phase I/II developmental therapeutics and other research protocols for the treatment of breast cancer, brain tumors and CNS metastases. In 1984, she was elected as a Fellow to the Board of American College of Physicians, and a member of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. She has published more than sixty papers in international and American Peer Review Journals, and is a frequently invited speaker in many international medical meetings and seminars.
