Biography
His lab focuses on understanding the molecular and cellular pathophysiology of Alzheimer’s disease. He has been recognized for studies on γ-secretase modulators, their mechanism of action and potential as disease-modifying agents for Alzheimer’s disease, in characterizing the physiological function of APP and how it might contribute to Alzheimer pathogenesis in ways unrelated to amyloid production, specifically on the functions, processing and trafficking of APP. More recently, he has focused his attention on how synapses are damaged in Alzheimer’s disease. At NUS, he plans to focus on mechanism of synaptic injury in AD and neurodegeneration and to investigate potential treatments for synaptic damage.
