Biography
· In 1995 Dr Andrea Rajnakova joined the National University Hospital (NUH) and National University of Singapore (NUS) as a PhD scholar pursuing a Doctorate in Medical Studies and subsequently completed a PhD thesis on Gastric Cancer in 2000. During her time at NUH, she was awarded The Young Doctor's Research Award at NUH's Inaugural Annual Scientific Meeting in 1997 and the Best Paper Award for oral presentation at the Nitric Oxide Symposium in 1998. In 2009 she won the Best Oral Presentation Award (Medical Disciplines) at the National Healthcare Group's 8th Annual Scientific Congress. · In 2000 Dr Rajnakova obtained her Master of Internal Medicine, Singapore (MMed) and in 2001 her Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK (MRCP). In 2005 she became part of the Fellowship of the Academy of Singapore in Gastroenterology (FAMS). · In 2008 Dr Rajnakova was awarded a Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Fellowship by the Ministry of Health, Singapore to further her training in ERCP and Therapeutic Endoscopy at the European Endoscopic Training Center at the Universita Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore, Gemelli Hospital in Rome, Italy under Professor Guido Costamagna, President of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. · As a Consultant at the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Dr Rajnakova practiced at the National University Hospital in Singapore until April 2010. She enjoyed teaching the undergraduate students at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine as a clinical tutor and was appointed chief coordinator for MRCP PACES in 2009. In addition to that, she was a mentor and endoscopy trainer for advanced specialists and endoscopy trainees. Dr Rajnakova received several awards for Clinical Services: In 2007, she received the Sunny-Side-Up NUH Service Award, the Sunny-Side-Up Wow NUH Service Award and the Excellent Service GOLD Award. In 2008, she received the National Excellent Service EXSA Star Award. · In April 2010 Dr Andrea Rajnakova entered private practice and set up her clinic at Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
