Cheong Aik Hock

Biography

Mr Cheong is Group Executive Vice-President. He oversees the Group's emerging power business, as well as the Group's legal activities, corporate governance and compliance. Mr Cheong joined Hyflux in May 2008 as Vice-President in the Legal division. He assumed the position of Senior Vice-President of the Group Business Legal division in March 2013, where he oversaw legal matters relating to the Group's various business activities worldwide, including Intellectual Property matters, and all infrastructure and project-related legal matters such as joint ventures, water concession agreements, EPC and O&M contracts, and project financing documentation. Prior to joining Hyflux, he spent 10 years with a regional law firm where he started off handling commercial dispute resolution matters for both local and international clients, and subsequently practiced as a corporate lawyer with the corporate finance department. He last served as a partner in the corporate department of the firm. Mr Cheong graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Law from the National University of Singapore in 1997 and was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1998.
