Biography
Carlos Martínez After he left the University of León in Spain, Carlos Martínez went to London, where he worked in several companies. His main job was the day to day running of a chain of bookshops in Central London as Managing Director. He always wanted to come back to the University and the opportunity came 12 years ago when he arrived in Uzbekistan. Before joining MDIS Tashkent, he worked for Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) as Senior Law Lecturer, the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and the University of World Languages as a Spanish Language teacher. Carlos has conducted research regarding the Constitutional development of Uzbekistan and he has several projects in progress covering the different aspects of Islamic Law, the analysis of the Soviet Constitutions, the symbols of Picasso’s Guernica and the commercial implications of the 2007 Lisbon Treaty. Carlos holds an LLM in European Union Law and also a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning.
