Biography
Gérard is a graduate of HEC Paris and attended the business management programme of Stanford University (USA). He is a currently Director of Merieux Development.Prior to this, he was an investment manager at Elf Technology in Paris and San Francisco in the early 1980’s. He founded and became CEO of Citicorp Venture Capital in Paris in 1984 and subsequently founded Schroder Ventures Paris (1989-1997). He has been responsible for four Venture and Buyout Funds, investing in total 200 M €, including 12 investments in the healthcare sector. He was also a Director of the French Venture Capital Association (AFIC). Gérard relocated to London in 1997 as a Director of Schroder Ventures Europe (now Permira). He founded Sitka Ltd in March 1999 and the Sitka Health Fund VCT plc in 2001 which he sold to NFM in November 2005. Gerard is a Board member of several UK and French companies. He has been nominated Conseiller du Commerce Exterieur in March 2007.
