Biography
Dr Chai Gin Boay received his BSc (First Class honours) degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1982 and obtained his PhD degree in Mechanics of Materials majoring in the mechanics of composite structures in 1988 from the University of Strathclyde, UK. He has successfully obtained research funding from various sources in Singapore to conduct research work on structural analysis of sandwich composites and laminated structures. He is a consultant to several local companies on engineering problems. As both author and reviewer, he has contributed numerous technical papers to international journals and conferences. He is currently an Associate Editor of the Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part L, Journal of Materials : Design and Applications.
