Biography
Dr Ooi Kim Tiow is a Professor in the School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering. He received BEng in 1986 and Ph.D. in 1989, both in Mechanical Engineering from University of Strathclyde, Scotland, U.K. His research areas are in areas related to studies on refrigeration systems and components design, heat transfer and fluid flow. He holds several patents in compressor designs and some of the designs won awards locally and internationally. Dr Ooi is widely consulted by industry both locally and internationally. He also sits in advisory committees in several international conferences on refrigeration compressors and/or their systems.
Research Interest
New highly energy efficient refrigeration compressor design, heat transfer and fluids flow.
