Assistant Professor
School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
Nanyang Technological University
Singapore

Biography

Dr. Tran joined the School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering in July 2013 as a Nanyang Assistant Professor. He received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA and the B.Sc. degree in Engineering Mechanics from the Hanoi University of Science, Vietnam in 2010 and 2004, respectively. Upon completion of his Ph.D., he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Physics of Fluids Group at the University of Twente, The Netherlands. Dr. Tran’s main research interests lie at the interface between heat transfer, phase transition, and hydrodynamics of complex flows.

Research Interest

Heat/mass transport at micro/nano-scales, thermal management, multiphase flows, fluid-surface interactions, 3D printing.
