Biography
Dr. Yong is an associate professor in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University. He obtained his PhD degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering from SUNY at Buffalo in 2006. He also serves as the Director of Centre for Bio Devices and Signal Analysis in NTU. His research focus is in the area of biophotonics, nanomedicine, and BioMEMS.

- nanotechnology approaches for cancer detection and therapy - multifunctional nanoparticles or quantum dots for biomedical and nanomedicine applications - biocompatible MEMS devices for activated therapies - pharmacokinetics and toxicity from nanoparticle-based delivery systems - novel biomaterials with controlled properties for targeted delivery/gene therapy - nanomaterials for solar and optoelectronic applications
