Biography
Dr Tina Koh obtained her medical degree from National University of Singapore in 2004. After housemanship, during her medical officer rotation, she developed a keen interest in Cardiothoracic Surgery. Hence she began her advanced surgical training in Cardiothoracic Surgery in National Heart Centre. After completion of her training and received a gold medal for her specialist exit examinations, she decided to pursue further in Thoracic Surgery. She went to South Korea to train under the regional expert surgeon of Video-assisted Thoracoscopic (VATS) Surgery in Seoul National University Bundang Hospital. She has since returned to work at the National Cancer Centre (NCC) as an Associate Consultant doing Thoracic surgery. With the increasing incidence and earlier detection of lung malignancy and hence surgical volume, she is setting up the Surgical Lung Cancer database. She is also enthusiastic about undergraduate and post-graduate training. She is a clinical educator in Yong Loo Lin Medical School. In addition, she is a visiting specialist in National Heart Centre and a member of the Chapter of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Her interests include lung cancer, mediastinal tumours, airway and pleural disease as well as benign conditions such as pneumothorax, with a main focus on minimally invasive thoracic surgeries.
