Biography
Dr Tan Wee Boon graduated from National University of Singapore in 2003 with degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. He then commenced on his surgical training in General Surgery in 2007. He was accredited as a general surgical specialist by Specialist Accreditation Board, Singapore in 2013 after he obtained a fellowship with Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is currently practicing as a Consultant in the Department of General Surgery. Dr Tan's special interests are in endocrine surgery and hernia surgery. Dr Tan is highly involved in undergraduate medical education as well as curriculum planning for Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He has received Dean's Award for Teaching Excellence and Certificate of Commendation for AY 2014/5. He is also actively involved in the training of surgical residents and is one of the core faculty members for the Surgery-in-General residency programme in NUH.
