Biography
Dr Yap obtained his undergraduate medical degree from the National University of Singapore, before obtaining his Master in Internal Medicine, Singapore and membership from the Royal College of Physicians, United Kingdom. He then completed his advanced specialist training in haematology and obtained his fellowship from the Royal College of Pathologists (Haematology) while pursuing his side interest in epidemiology and statistics as a researcher at the Department of Epidemiology, Leiden University Medical Centre, Netherlands. His research interests include coagulopathy in trauma, epidemiological link between arterial and venous thrombosis and medical education. He is actively involved in undergraduate and post-graduate medical education and is currently Program Director, Haematology Senior Residency program, National University Hospital and Assistant Professor, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.
