Biography
Dr. Choo Bok Ai graduated from the University of Aberdeen in UK and obtained his postgraduate internal medicine training qualification (MRCP) from the Royal College of Physician of London in 2002. He completed his clinical oncology specialist training in 2007 in Birmingham, UK. He is currently a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologist UK. He is appointed to the post of Vice Chairman of the Chapter of Radiation Oncology in the Academy of Medicine, Singapore since 2015. Dr. Choo practices as a Senior Consultant in Radiation Oncology at the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore and is based at the National University Hospital and Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He is also appointed Assistant Professor in Medicine at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at NUS since 2011. His interests include new technologies in radiotherapy, precision medicine and he specializes in breast, gynaecology, skin and sarcoma cancers. He currently heads the breast cancer radiation subspeciality and set up the first MRI based interstitial and intracavity brachytherapy in cervical cancer in NUH. He had organised, chaired and taught at the International Atomic Energy Agency Asia-Pacific postgraduate teaching course in 3D brachytherapy in cervical cancer in Singapore in 2015. Currently, he is the principle investigator in three prospective clinical and translational trials in cervical cancer with multiple grants support. He is also coinvestigator in nine other prospective clinical trials. He has published over 25 peer review articles and contributed a book chapter in clinical research in the Encyclopedia of Radiation Oncology.
