Biography
Dr Tan Min-Han is the founder and chief executive officer of Lucence Diagnostics Pte Ltd, an international molecular diagnostics company headquartered in Singapore. Lucence has the mission of illuminating the most complex clinical challenges today using the most innovative technology available. Concurrently, he is also a visiting consultant medical oncologist at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS). He received his medical degree from the National University of Singapore, being awarded the Brunel Hawes Gold Medal in Clinical Medicine, Nestle Gold Medal in Pediatrics, and Lim Boon Keng Medal for Internal Medicine. Dr Tan’s interests center on the use of diagnostic innovations and machinelearning analytics for diagnosing complex problems in medicine. He has contributed over 100 original research papers, and has filed multiple patents licensed to industry and deployed in the clinical laboratory. His laboratory is recognized in particular for discovering the circulating tumor-endothelial cluster in the blood of cancer patients. He has developed widely-cited data models for clinical medicine, including the Cleveland Clinic PTEN score for evaluating genetic risks and the SLICER score, independently demonstrated as the best-in-class externally validated data model for modelling resected liver cancer. His research has been recognized by awards from ASCO, ESMO and ASEAN. He continues to contribute as a member of the Drug Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Health in Singapore.
