Biography
Dr. Chen received his PhD in Molecular Biology from Nanyang Technological University in 2011. Before joining the Cytogenetics Laboratory, he worked as a Research Scientist in the Department of Clinical Research, where the research team focused on the application of synthesized antisense oligonucleotides for treatment of diseases, i.e. spinal muscular atrophy and cancers, from 2010 to 2011. In 2012, Dr. Chen started working in the Cytogenetics Laboratory, where cytogenetics and microarray came into his career for the first time. He conducted a research, as a Co-Investigator, on the application of microarray analysis in haematological disorders since 2013. As an allied health professional, Dr. Chen is most interested in research projects that have the potential of clinical applications.
