Biography
Dr Cherylin Fu is a consultant surgeon with the Department of Colorectal Surgery at the Singapore General Hospital. She obtained her medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 2004 and since found a keen interest in surgery, completing her advanced traineeship in colorectal surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2012. She is a full member of the Society of Colorectal Surgeons (Singapore). Apart from presenting at various local as well as international conferences, she has also been heavily involved in organising various public outreach as well as public awareness campaigns on colorectal and pelvic floor disorders in Singapore. Dr Fu did her fellowship in Australia from 2013 to 2014, pursuing her interests in Pelvic Floor Disorders and Advanced Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery. She has trained in various sub-specialized procedures such as sacral nerve simulation and laparoscopic ventral rectopexy among other operations for faecal incontinence and pelvic floor prolapse.
