Biography
I am an anaesthetist by training. My work involves airway instrumentation, vascular access, diagnostic ultrasound and use of state of art infusion pumps and ventilators. The operating theatre – my work place. And multi-disciplinary surgeons and interventionists my colleagues. The nature of my work has enabled me to observe, hypothesize and propose possible solutions to meet needs and challenges encountered peri-operatively. Technology enhanced wellness is the essence of future medicine. The next continuum of medicine will be shaped by innovation powered by our imagination – smart environment at home, clinic and operating theatre. In the operating theatre, smart management of data and work process is another space for transformation to yield better efficiency and productivity. My main area of interest includes wellness monitoring devices and sensors, automated people transportation system, operating theatre safety for healthcare workers and perioperative information and management. And I believe little steps in tandem lead to path of change.
