Biography
Dr. Jacqueline Chua is postdoctoral research fellow at the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI) and is also a practicing optometrist. She is mainly involved in population-based studies with a focus on Asian-related eye diseases. Her main research interest is the understanding of glaucoma mechanism which can impact the prevention of blindness. Her recent work entails the study of glaucoma-related risk factors in the three major ethnic groups to improve the understanding of early glaucoma changes, and may allow the prediction, early detection and diagnosis of glaucoma, leading to a more effective screening of at-risk patients, independent of conventional risk factors.
