Biography
Dr Loo Jing Liang is a senior consultant at the Singapore National Eye Centre and a visiting consultant to Changi General Hospital. She is also an adjunct research fellow at the Singapore Eye Research Institute. She obtained her medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 1999. She completed her advanced specialist training in Ophthalmology and became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and the Academy of Medicine (Singapore) in 2008. Following this, she embarked on a one year of fellowship in Neuro-Ophthalmology at the Singapore National Eye Centre. In 2009, she was awarded the Higher Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship and spent one year at the Wilmer Eye Institute at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland, USA. There, she underwent further training in Neuro-Ophthalmology under the tutelage of Professor Neil Miller, who is an international leader in in the field of Neuro-ophthalmology. Dr Loo has presented at numerous local and international conferences as well as published in international peer reviewed journals. She is a clinical tutor for the Duke-NUS postgraduate medical students and is also actively involved in the teaching of Ophthalmology residents. Besides Neuro-ophthalmology, Dr Loo also practices general ophthalmology and performs cataract surgeries as part of her practice.
