Biography
Dr Ng is a consultant medical oncologist at the National Cancer Centre Singapore, sub-specializing in genitourinary, thoracic, head and neck, and nasopharyngeal cancers. He completed his medical training at Imperial College, University of London, and is a member of the Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom. He is a clinician scientist, and is a recipient of the National Medical Research Council research grant to develop new drugs for the treatment of cancer. He was awarded the Doctor of Medicine degree by University College London for his research into novel vascular targeting anti-cancer drugs. He is also actively involved in research to develop functional imaging as a biomarker in oncology and is the Imaging Lead at the Experimental Cancer Treatment Unit, National Cancer Centre Singapore. He was awarded the Cancer Research UK research fellowship as well as the British Oncological Association Young Investigator Award for his work. His research has been widely published in both oncology and radiology journals. He is actively involved in medical education. He is clinical senior lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, as well as research mentor to Duke-NUS graduate medical students.
Research Interest
Clinical trials of novel therapeutics in all tumour types, with special interests in urological cancers, lung cancers, head and neck cancers, and nasopharyngeal cancer. Early phase clinical trials incorporating multimodality, multi-parametric functional imaging as predictive and prognostic biomarkers.
