Biography
Dr Tan completed a Ministry of Health sponsored HMDP fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Robotic Colorectal Surgery in 2013 at St James University Hospital in Leeds, United Kingdom. She believes that minimally invasive colorectal surgery should be the standard of care and is a certified console surgeon for the da Vinci robotic surgical system. In addition, she also performs transanal endoscopic microsurgery, which is used in the treatment of rectal tumours. She is actively involved in teaching and research, and is clinical senior lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS as well as Adjunct Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. She has published widely, particularly on minimally invasive colorectal surgery.
