Biography
Adj Associate Prof Lim Li is a Senior Consultant and Immediate past head (Clinical Service and Education) of the Corneal and External Eye Disease Service at the Singapore National Eye Centre. She has had more than two decades of experience in treating eye conditions. She completed her medical and general ophthalmic training in Singapore obtaining the degrees of MBBS (S’pore), FRCS (Ed), MMed(Ophth) and FAMS(S’pore). She completed her corneal fellowship training in Singapore, Australia and Canada. Adj Assoc Prof Lim is the Deputy Director of the Singapore Eye Bank, and is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS), Asia-Pacific Academy of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (APACRS), Asia Corneal Society, Singapore Society of Ophthalmologists and Singapore Medical Association. She is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine (Ophthalmology), Singapore. She has won numerous awards in her career including the Singapore Health Quality Service Award, Gold Award in recognition of outstanding and commendable service (2015), Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Achievement Award (2015) and the 2015 Singapore National Day Award – Long Service Medal. Adj Assoc Prof Lim is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate ophthalmology education and she is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School of Singapore. She is a Clinical Physician Faculty Member of the SingHealth Ophthalmology Residency Program. She has mentored and trained both local and international ophthalmologists in cataract, refractive and corneal transplantation surgeries. She has published many scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals, written book chapters and has been invited to speak at numerous local and international meetings in the USA, Europe and Asia. She is an Adjunct Clinician Investigator at the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI). Her current research interests include the surgical treatment options for keratoconus, anterior segment imaging and laser refractive surgery in combination with corneal cross-linking.
Research Interest
Her areas of subspecialty include cataract surgery with intraocular lens implantation, management of corneal and external eye diseases, corneal transplantation surgeries, refractive surgeries including LASIK and medical contact lenses.
