Biography
Dr. Charumathi Sabanayagam, a Senior Clinician Scientist and an epidemiologist is a member of the Singapore Epidemiology of Eye Diseases (SEED) unit at the Singapore Eye Research Institute. She received her undergraduate medical degree from University of Madras, and postgraduate degree from The Tamilnadu Dr MGR Medical University, India and a Masters in Public Health and PhD from the National University of Singapore. She completed her postdoctoral research in diabetes and cardiovascular epidemiology at University of West Virginia, USA.

Epidemiology of chronic kidney disease, diabetes and metabolic syndrome Link between renal and retinal diseases, in particular, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration Role of novel biomarkers such as retinal microvascular abnormalities, sleep, and vitamin D in renal and retinal diseases
