Biography
Prof Wong is a clinician-scientist, who directs a clinical research program in the following areas: Retinal and ocular imaging techniques to predict diseases. Epidemiology of age-related eye diseases in Asians Genetic basis of age-related macular degeneration and its clinical presentation Mechanisms in diabetic retinopathy and implications in novel treatment He has published more than 600 papers, including papers in the New England Journal of Medicine and the Lancet. For his work, Prof Wong has been recognized internationally and nationally with numerous awards, including the Singapore Translational Researcher Award (STaR), the National Outstanding Clinician-Scientist Award and the President’s Science Award.
