Biography
Ng Sing Chan was appointed President, Singapore Technologies Marine Ltd (ST Marine) on 1 May 2010. Prior to this, Mr Ng was Deputy President and President (Marketing & Business Development) of ST Marine. A veteran of the marine industry with experiences spanning more than 25 years, Mr Ng was a PSC scholarship holder and graduated with a Master of Science (Naval Architecture) from the University of Hamburg. Upon completion of his studies, he joined ST Marine in 1987 (then known as Singapore Shipbuilding and Engineering Ltd) as a Design Engineer and later spearheaded the company’s drive towards ISO 9001 certification. The company was the first shipyard outside Japan and Europe to achieve the certification in 1991. He held several appointments including Head (QA), Head (Newship Estimating), Project Manager and Engineering Manager before leaving in 1991.
