Chong Yea Hwe

Biography

Dr. Chong graduated with Honours from the National University of Singapore in 1984. She received numerous awards and accolades during her undergraduate studies. She was awarded the Singapore Dental Association President’s Silver Medal and University Silver Medal for best performance at the first and second BDS examinations respectively. She was the best preclinical and clinical student in her cohort. She received the Mummery Medal for being the best student in Oral Pathology. She was awarded the Tratman Medal for being the most distinguished graduate in Dentistry; the Hoops Medal for the best student in Operative Dentistry and the University Silver Medal for the best performance at Final BDS Examination. Dr. Chong proceeded to obtain her Master of Science in Conservative Dentistry from the University of London in 1987 while on a Commonwealth Academic Staff Scholarship. She completed the Master of Dental Surgery (Operative Dentistry) from the National University of Singapore in 1990. She went on to further pursue a graduate course in Orthodontics at the University of Washington in Seattle, USA. She obtained her Master of Science in Dentistry and Certificate in Orthodontics in 1995.
