Biography
Since joining Samsung Electronics's Semiconductor Business Division in 1985, Dr. Kwon has played a key role in Samsung Electronics's rapid advancement in the semiconductor industry. Board of Directors of Samsung Electronics Co. officially named Dr. Oh-Hyun Kwon as Executive Director on June 8, 2012. In addition to overseeing the company as a Chief Executive Officer, he continues to be the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for Samsung Electronics's Device Solutions Division, which manufactures three components: memory modules, system components LSI, and LED modules. Dr. Kwon has published a number of materials at conferences and symposia, including the ISSCC, the VLSI Symposium and the IEDM Conference. Through his expertise, he has contributed to several semiconductor technical periodicals. Dr. Kwon holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the National University of Seoul, an engineering engineer from KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) and a doctorate in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
