Biography
Prof. Peter Pleus (b. 1954) studied mechanical engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, where he received his doctoral degree in technical sciences in 1982. In the same year, he began his professional career as an Assistant to the Management Board at Pleuco, Carl Pleus and Sons in Zell im Wiesental. From 1994 to 2000, he was Managing Director of Mahle Ventiltrieb. In 2001, Prof. Peter Pleus became a Member of the Management Board of Schaeffler Automotive, where, in 2005, he was appointed as Chairman of the Management Board Engine Systems. When the company’s legal entity changed to Schaeffler AG in 2011, he assumed the position of Member of the Executive Board Automotive responsible for the Engine Systems Business Division. Since January 2014, he has held the position of CEO Automotive and is responsible for the Engine Systems and Chassis Systems Business Divisions as well as Global Key Account Management Automotive.
