Biography
Dr. Rainer Baumgart has been at secunet since 1997. Since the IPO in 1999, he has been on the Board of secunet Security Networks AG and took on the role of Chair in 2001. He is responsible for the Public and Business, Corporate Development/Strategy, Compliance/Auditing and Communications/Marketing business units. A qualified physicist, he has a 20-year career in the field of IT security behind him, including posts at RWTÜV AG and TÜV Informationstechnik GmbH. Dr. Baumgart is also active on a European level, in the Stakeholder Group of ENISA – the European Network and Information Security Agency. In Germany, he serves as Vice Chairman of the Board at TeleTrusT - Bundesverband IT-Sicherheit e.V. He has been an appointed member of the program advisory board to the German IT Security Congress for the last few years.
