Biography
Fouché holds a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of South Africa. She joined the CSIR in 1983 and is research group leader for the lead discovery group in bioprospecting and agroprocessing. Fouché has been involved in natural products research as an organic chemist for more than 18 years. The research projects she works on are aimed at the discovery and development of drug/herbal leads from South Africa’s biodiversity.
Research Interest
Fouché’s research interests lie in the discovery and development of drug/herbal leads from South Africa’s biodiversity, specifically the investigation of the medicinal plants of South Africa.
