Biography
Calitz joined the CSIR as senior engineer in 2015 to undertake research and development in the field of energy system planning and integration. She formed part of the team that developed South Africa’s Integrated Resource Plan when working as an energy modeller at Eskom. Her core competencies include energy economics, economic dispatch modelling, power system adequacy assessments and capacity expansion planning.
Research Interest
Calitz’ interests are energy system planning and integration. She conducts energy system modelling studies to contribute to research and decision-making in the local and international energy industry.
