Biography
Walters holds a Master’s degree in conservation ecology from Stellenbosch University. Her area of interest lies in the development of, and capacity building for, biodiversity and ecosystem observation systems to meet national (environmental indicators) and international (e.g. Convention on Biological Diversity Aichi Targets and IPBES Assessments) biodiversity reporting requirements allowing for evidence-based decision- and policy-support.
Research Interest
Walters’ key competencies are in biodiversity, the ecology of natural ecosystems and their components and the tools or systems required for the effective observation and management of biodiversity and ecosystems.
