Biography
De Jager obtained a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Witwatersrand, followed by a Master’s degree in Applied Ethics for Professionals. She joined the CSIR in 2007 and is a research group leader specialising in building design and engineering, particularly for social infrastructure. De Jager’s’research interests include healthcare facility design, climate responsive design, tuberculosis transmission and mitigation, infection prevention and control, implementation support to government and capacity development. She serves as the Chairman for the South African Federation of Hospital Engineering.
