Rodney T Blower

Biography

 Rodney Blower has been in business since his graduation from the University of the Witwatersrand with a B.Sc. Industrial Chemistry in 1973. In 1975 he joined AECI as a Research Chemist after a short time in the exciting specialty oils industry with RJW Spanjaard and Company.. After 10 years with AECI and a switch from Research Department to PVC Sales as National Sales Manager - PVC Flexibles he joined NOVO Industri A/S as the General Manager of the Enzymes Division in 1985. After a few years in this position supplying industrial enzymes to the South African Market he did a management buy-out of the Enzymes Division together with his colleagues. He then took on the role of Managing Director of  Enzymes SA (Pty) Ltd on 1st December 1986, a position which he held until the creation of Novozymes SA (Pty) Ltd. In 2001 he was asked to join the interim committee for the formation of the Egoli Bio Life Sciences Incubator and now chairs the Board of Trustees of EgoliBio.On 1st July 2004 Novozymes A/S of Denmark purchased the shares of Enzymes SA (Pty) Ltd and Novozymes SA (Pty) Ltd came into existence.Rodney Blower continued as Managing Director of Novozymes SA (Pty) Ltd responsible for sales to customers throughout Sub-Saharan Africa until the end of his guarantee period of 4 years at which time he took on the role of Business Development Director for Novozymes SA (Pty) Ltd.
