Biography
Professor Paul-Henri Bischoff graduated with a DPhil from the University of Manchester after completing degrees at the University of Lancaster and the University of the Witwatersrand. He taught at the Universities of Swaziland and Papua New Guinea before taking up his appointment at Rhodes. Apart from his research interests to do with foreign policy and international organisation, he practises as an international election observer having observed elections in the rest of Africa, Melanesia, the Balkans, Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia since 1989. He has served as head of department from 1999-2003 and, again, since 2007.
