Andreia Soares

Biography

 Andreia is a cellular immunologist with extensive experience in advanced immunological techniques, such as multiparameter flow cytometry. She brings with her a unique perspective on biomarker discovery with her background in infectious diseases and clinical immunology. Andreia completed her PhD in Clinical Science and Immunology at the University of Cape Town, which focused on Bacille Calmette Guérin (BCG)-specific T cell mediated immunity following vaccination of newborns. The predominant focus of her post-doctoral work was on new vaccination strategies against HIV. Andreia has several international peer-reviewed publications related to HIV and TB and her area of interest is focused on attaining a better understanding of cellular immunity related to infectious diseases and vaccine induced immune responses.
