Biography
I lecture in the field of Strategy and International Business at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business and am a researcher in the field of organizational behaviour, with a focus on multi-level trust development across cultures. I’m particularly interested in conceptualising and measuring culture, in cultural diversity & integration, and the strategic management of culturally diverse workforce. This perhaps stems from my personal diverse background. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering in Tehran, continued my postgraduate education in the field of Management, with a focus on Organizational Behaviour & Innovation and Technology Management at Durham University Business School, UK. Intrigued by the concept of ‘trust’, I then commenced on a PhD journey in order to examine a multidimensional conceptualisation of culture and its impact on interpersonal trust development. Whilst at Durham University Business School, I held the position of a teaching fellow on the postgraduate level, in the field of Strategic Management & Organizational Behavior. I then moved to Munich, Germany where I continued my research activities in the form of conference presentations, workshops and publications with Jacobs University, Bremen. My academic memberships include the European Group for Organization Studies (EGOS); Associate fellow of Higher Education Academy (HEA); European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM); First International Network on Trust (FINT), and have been awarded with a teaching and learning certificate by the Higher Education Academy in the United Kingdom.
