Biography
Anthony Afolayan teaches and conducts his research in Ethnomedicine at the University of Fort Hare, South Africa.He obtained his PhD degree from the University of Pretoria.He is an author of over 20 research publications in international journals with emphasis on physiological ecology and ethnopharmacognosy.His more than 18 years university teaching experience began in Nigeria, through Lesotho and now in South Africa.He is currently engaged in the extraction, isolation, purification and structural identification of medicinally active compounds from plants that have been implicated in herbal medicine throughout the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
Research Interest
His main research interests include Psychoactive herb, Pharmacology and Toxicology, phytomedicine, Natural Products.
