Biography
Cobus Janse van Rensburg studied at the University of Pretoria where he obtained his BCom with specialisation in informatics and later his BCom Honours in internal auditing. He also obtained the designation of Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) during 2005. He is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Incorporated (IIA Inc). Cobus currently holds a post as lecturer in the Department of Auditing at the University of Pretoria. He has served in the internal auditing profession in both the private and the public sector before joining the University of Pretoria in 2008. Cobus has been involved in the undergraduate modules (2008 – 2009) and postgraduate (2009 – currently) internal auditing modules in the Department of Auditing. He is also involved in various activities within the Internal Auditing Education Partnership (IAEP) programme at the University of Pretoria, such as international relations and coordination of computer short courses to the second and third year internal auditing students.
Research Interest
His area of Specialisation is Information technology auditing and performance auditing. His Current research focus is Internal Auditing in the public sector.
