Biography
Mmantsae Moche Diale obtained her B.Sc. (Education) in Physics and Mathematics from North West University (Mafikeng), BSc Honours in Physics at Sefako Makgatho University. The MSc dissertation entitled "A study of silicide formation using Ta markers" was supervised by Profs Craig Comrie from the University of Cape Town and Prof JW Mayer at Arizona State University (USA). The degree was awarded with distinctions, after a publication in Applied Physics Letters, entitled "Cobalt self-diffusion during cobalt silicide formation", at MEDUNSA. The PhD Thesis entitled "Schottky barrier diode fabrication on n-GaN for ultraviolet detection" was awarded by the University of Pretoria after three publications, under the supervision of Prof Danie Auret. Postdoctoral studies with Prof Auret followed on defects studies of ZnO using DLTS and LDLTS, in collaboration with Prof Francis Ling of the University of Hong Kong. Current research in Diale's laboratory is on solar energy conversion from materials development to device fabrication.
