Biography
Annelize Nagtegaal is a lecturer in the Department of Private Law at the University of Pretoria. She obtained the degree LLB (cum laude) in 2007 from the University of Pretoria followed by an LLM degree (cum laude) in 2011, also at the University of Pretoria. She is currently busy with her LLD in the area of Sports Law. Adv Nagtegaal was admitted as an advocate of the High Court in 2008, and practiced for two years as such. In 2009 she was appointed as an assistant lecturer on a part-time basis in the Department of Private Law at the University of Pretoria. In 2010 she was appointed as a junior lecturer and promoted to full-time lecturer in July 2012. Adv Nagtegaal presented a paper entitled “Strict Liability in the World Anti-Doping Code: A Contractual Perspective†at the Sports Law Colloquium in Bloemfontein on 10 May 2012. Annelize Nagtegaal is an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa.
Research Interest
Adv Nagtegaal’s areas of interest lie within the fields of the Law of Contract and Sports Law.
