Biography
Yolande is a lecturer in the Department of Mercantile Law. She holds the degrees BProc (RAU/UJ) and LLM (UP) and has been a golden key member since 2008. She was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2004 and had been practising as such prior to her appointment as lecturer in 2015. Mrs Springveldt served as prosecutor after completion of her pre-graduate studies for 7 years during which time she prosecuted in regional court matters and served as control prosecutor. She left the Department of Justice in order to pursue a career as a litigant and   served articles with Savage Jooste & Adams Inc in Pretoria.Thereafter she was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa and commenced practising for her own account. She practised as an attorney for more than 11 years, specialising in Labour Law litigation as well as Law of Contracts and Civil litigation. She also worked as ad-hoc facilitator for the Foundation for Professional Development in Pretoria and in particular the Labour Relations Modules focusing on “ Labour Relations for medical professionalsâ€. She was also responsible for the development of the Labour Relations course content. She joined the University of Pretoria Law in the Department of Mercantile Law as a lecturer in September 2015.
Research Interest
Her main field of interest is Labour Law and Law of Contracts. Ms Springveldt is a specialist in conducting disciplinary hearings and enquiries as well as in representing parties at these forums.
