Biography
Dr. Pieter Rousseau Fourie was awarded PhD from University Stellenbosch, South Africa. During the year 1985-1990 he provided his services as a Lecturer of Medical Physiology and Biochemistry in University Stellenbosch. During that period he worked with with Prof. A.R. Coetzee (Department Anaesthesiology) on the effect of anaesthetic drugs on the myocardium. Currently, he is providing his services as Extra-ordinary Associate Professor in the Department Anesthesiology and Critical Care; University Stellenbosch, Faculty of Health Sciences. Supporting the Department with research and development of innovative concepts and ideas. He is also the head of Biomedical Engineering Research Group (BERG), Department of Mechanical & Mechatronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Stellenbosch University.
Research Interest
His main research interests include Immunology, Anesthesiology, Biomedical research
