Biography
Bernard Martin is Professor of Private Law and Deputy Dean of Student Affairs in The Faculty of Law and is head of the Department of Private Law. He teaches intellectual property law and the conflict of laws. He has supervised numerous masters, is currently supervising a masters and three doctoral students. He acts as an external examiner for numerous South African universities. Professor Martin obtained the BA LLB degrees from the University of KwaZulu Natal, Durban and LLD from the University of the Western Cape.
Research Interest
Professor Martin’s main research interests lie in the Spatial Dimension of Intellectual Property Rights and Indigenous Knowledge.
