Biography
Dr Caren Billing is currently a Professor of chemistry at University of the witswatersrand. Dr Billing’s main field of research is studying metal-ligand equilibria using electrochemical techniques. Of particular interest is the coordination chemistry of bismuth(III) which has been largely neglected due to difficulties in studying these complexes. This is despite the current and potential application of Bi(III) in medicinal applications.
