Biography
Monika Nowakowska is currently working as Associate Professor of chemistry at University of Witwatersrand. Her research is primarily focused on the chemistry of cobalt corrins; with particular emphasis on how cobalt(III), a classic example on an inert metal, is labilised when co-ordinated to corrin macrocycles such as vitamin B12.
Research Interest
Her research is primarily focused on the chemistry of cobalt corrins; with particular emphasis on how cobalt(III), a classic example on an inert metal, is labilised when co-ordinated to corrin macrocycles such as vitamin B12. Her research efforts include the synthesis and characterization of various cobalt corrins derivatives in which the electronic structure has been perturbed in a variety of ways, as well as extensive solution chemistry studies.
