Biography
Yasien Sayed is currently working as Professor of Molecular and Cell Biology at University of Witwatersrand.
Research Interest
His research seeks to address the structural and thermodynamic basis of binding of protease inhibitors to the South African HIV-1 subtype C protease. He is also interested in characterising the binding of non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors to the reverse transcriptase from the various subtypes using a variety of techniques including X-ray crystallography and isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC).
