Biography

Dr. Andy Richards CBE is a well-established entrepreneur and builder of biotechnology and diagnostic ventures. He brings a strong business focus and an in-depth knowledge of the industry and company scale up. In addition to Abcodia he is also currently Chairman of Ixico plc, Congenica, Novacta and Cambridge Temperature Concepts and is a Director of Arecor, Cancer Research Technology (commercial arm of CR-UK), Babraham Bioscience Technologies and Cambridge University Hospitals Trust. His early career spanned positions with ICI (now AstraZeneca) and PA Technology, and he was a founder and executive director of Chiroscience. Andy is a graduate of Cambridge University with a PhD in Chemistry. Andy is also a founder member of the Cambridge Angels.
